If you want to try rooting fig cuttings, and have no experience, then a good variety to start off with is Flanders. With little care, and keeping the medium just moist, they root quickly and with less fuss than some other varieties.
The plant pictured is a Flanders fig about 37 days from cutting, rooted in purely cocopeat. The roots have literally filled the cup and the plant now sucks all the water dry in a day. I usually plant them in a different medium, but this was tried with 100% cocopeat and the plant does well rooting in this too.
